It’s a balmy evening on the sprawling outdoor set of The Midnight Star, Bollywood’s most anticipated film of the year. The air buzzes with the soft hum of generators and distant laughter as golden floodlights bathe the palm lined set in a dreamy glow. The cast and crew are just one scene away from wrapping for the day, eager to melt into their evening rituals – memorizing lines, schmoozing at rooftop cocktail parties or slipping away into the city’s velvet night. But there’s a hitch.
The director, Arjun Sharma, is missing. He’s not in his chair. Not in the control tent. Not anywhere. A production runner is dispatched, vanishing into the maze of cables, trailers and canvas walls.
When he returns, his face is pale. Eyes wide. He tries to speak, but only one word escapes his lips. “Murdered!” A hush falls over the set. The camera stops rolling. The illusion shatters. And the real drama begins.

Vinda Loo
Efficient, sharp-tongued, and forever clutching a clipboard. Runs the set like a drill sergeant but secretly longs to direct. Resents Arjun Sharma for overshadowing his
talent.
